[03:11.00]oh! they say some people long ago [03:11.00]were searching for a diff'rent tune, [03:11.00]one that they could croon [03:11.00]as only they can. [03:11.00]they only had the rhythm so [03:11.00]they started swaying to and fro. [03:11.00]they didn`t know just what they had [03:11.00]and that is how the blues really began: [03:11.00]they heard the breeze in the trees [03:11.00]singing weird melodies [03:11.00]and they made that [03:11.00]the start of the blues. [03:11.00]and from a jail came the wail [03:11.00]of a down hearted frail, [03:11.00]and they played that [03:11.00]as part of the blues. [03:11.00]from a whippoorwill out on a hill, [03:11.00]they took a new note, [03:11.00]pushed it through a horn [03:11.00]'til it was born into a blue note. [03:11.00]and then they nursed it, rehearsed it, [03:11.00]and gave out the news [03:11.00]that the southland [03:11.00]gave birth to the blues!
